July 11th

We left Talkeetna this morning and on the way out of town the sky was blue with no clouds.  We got to see Mt Mckinley and get some pics.  We had been within viewing distance for about a week, but the clouds were always covering them.  We were told that only about 30% of the people that go to Denali get to see the Mt.  We felt very fortunate.  It is so beautiful!
We drove about 15 miles south of Anchorage on the Seward Hwy and stopped at a RV site.

The highest mountain in North America at over 20,000 feet

  1. Years ago, Carol and her family took a driving trip to Alaska. She woke up at 3:00 AM, looked out and saw the mountain.. she actually woke the whole campground, or at least everyone within shouting distance! LOL... she would be enjoying your day by day information!
