July 12th

We left the RV parked and drove to Girdwood ( pop 2,000 ) on the Alyeska Hwy.  Up on Crow Creek Road past a old mine, for 20$, you could pan for gold all day.  We went another 3 miles past the mine on a very narrow road up the Mts.  It would be fun to have our Geo Tracker up here for some of these roads. I loved it up there!!  You can see why from the pics

The hiking trail was closed 15 miles up because a grizzly was eating a moose kill and he did not want to be bothered.  He had come after a hiker but he sprayed the bear with bear spray so he wasn't hurt. Darn, I was wanting to do that hike.  Haha
