July 9th. Talkeetna

We left Cantwell this morning and drove south about a 100 miles to the town of Talkeetna. The population here is almost 900.  We are camped by the Susitna river in the middle of trees on the edge of town.  Buck is disappointed as the King salmon is ending and it's just a bit early for the reds and  silver, they are all caught here.
It is very cloudy as we were driving this morn, the clouds were hiding the mountains.  You can see Mt Mc Kinley or Denali as its also called, if its clear.   Denali means 'The High One' or 'The Great One'.
We walked around town this afternoon looking at some shops and some old buildings and cabins.  Stopped an had a pizza.  Plan on going to the museum tomorrow.  I did get a few pic of the town

This is where we had pizza.
