July 11th....Squirrel Creek Rec area

We left Anchorage this morning early for us, around 9.  Drove about 230 miles and found a beautiful campsite in a state recreation area.  We are parked right beside a creek, in fact, I am sitting right out by it now writing this.  The sun is shinning, which makes me happy.  It has been cloudy and rainy for 2 weeks.  It sounds like Valdez is in a rain forest, so I am sure it will be rainy there.  But everyone tells us that it's absolutely beautiful, if we like it, we may stay for a week or two.  We're ready to stay in one place for a while.  The silver salmon are starting to run, so hopefully Buck can do lots of  fishing.  It won't be long before we will have to start heading south.
The drive over here today was really pretty.   Lots of Mountains, glaciers and lakes.   I got tons of pics!!

This is the creek that I'm sitting beside

This glacier is 27 miles long and 2 to 4 foot wide
